peter the denier, doubting thomas, judas the betrayer; these guys had issues and werent perfect
slow learners
over and over again. disciples missed the greatest event in history of mankind.(Resurrection), eventually they got it. our students will be slower learners.
self centered
all humans are self-centered. students always want the easy way out. Jesus' disciples are always saying, "what's in it for me?".
uneducated and unprofessional
god started with movement of those who were not the highest. all people felt comfortable coming to him.

they were taught, they were open, they could have their lvies changed. God was more concerned w/ availability than ability.

Jesus was comfortable with all kinds of people
God was here and all kinds of people liked to be around him. Ppl get in the way of other ppl. It's the ones who are sick that need a Dr.
Jesus was compassionate
beginning to end, compassion, compassion, compassion. act on thoughts. ppl knew that he was compassionate.
Jesus had a strong self concept
there is a difference between image and self concept. jesus knew what his objective was. he was so committed that he risked popularity. determination: whether my disciples are there or not i am dying for the sins of the world.
Jesus knew his learners
he used this information for their benefit. he knew individual differences. know your learners. make everyone in class feel like they're really known.

John 3:1-21- talknig to nick in night in a street.talking about how you have been born again. the man tells jesus he is faithful and jesus challenges the man to sell all of his stuff. ibjective is to have the leader better understand that we must give up everything
